WEST TEXAS in China

This miniature painting shows the tramp freighter West Texas entering a Chinese harbor in 1949. The “Laker” class ship had been launched as Lake Flag but had been operated by Southern S.S. Co. The ship was sold to a Chinese firm and renamed Hai Chuen.
